Deb Stoner
“A Closer Look” gives viewers a chance to examine the large scale still life photography of Deb Stoner.
Deb Stoner is an artist who makes large-scale photographs of the flora and tiny fauna of the gardens of her neighbors and friends in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Her unusual technique of using a high-resolution flatbed scanner as her camera allows her to compose still life images using the shapes of flowers, with extreme control while allowing for surprises. By only using flowers that she finds in gardens in bloom at a given moment, Deb’s work documents a moment in time in the short extraordinary lives of plants.
