First Friday Reception: Friday December 5th, 6-8pm
“This series of paintings continues my exploration of memories and their transient quality. Using found photos and film these paintings are both anonymous in nature but also very personal. With these images as a starting point, I manipulate and edit them, then transfer the image to the canvas where the paint shifts it even further from the source material. This process mirrors the evolution of memory that we often continue to rewrite as they fade. This softening of moments is both painful, but also beautiful. As the everyday fades away, what remains is all the more poignant.”
