First Thursday Reception: March 1st, 6-9pm
Steve Steckley finds beauty embedded in objects. He observes visual narratives that lurk in the shadows of everyday life. “The photographs in this series reflect the desire to first, immerse myself in the dynamics and potential of ‘ordinary’ scenes and objects and second, to translate that experience to the viewer.” Portland, Oregon is a city robust with color, contrast, texture and iconoclastic images. The matrix of color and culture found in a North Portland Mexican deli is also found across town in an obscure store housing taxidermied game animals. This show parades the beauty of what is too often overlooked and consequently invites the viewer into a dialogue with their own environment.
We are requiring appointments before visiting and masks and social distancing are mandatory. Thank your for your understanding.
